Btw …
Climbing the stairs to a sun drenched swap meet
where a pair of 1947 cufflinks for 15
ninety five would have been
a steal in 1979 but
*
For we have no sword or bow & arrow
and yet here we fly like
simple sparrows
*
But how can you forget what
you’ve never really
known
or un forget what
you already
know
*
I’ve always tried to bend
backwards towards
the sun
but sometimes
i’ve fallen
short
*
DO we fly
of course
we do
or
at
least
we
try
Do You ?

One of my all-time favorite mindgallery photos and a thoughtful piece from a few years ago to go along with it. I’m still half-heartedly looking at the Brooklyn Missed Connections feed every day, but poetry posts (from anyone) are becoming a thing of the past and it’s a bit of a downer to see what it’s become. Like the poem says, how can you un-forget what you already know?
