That fleeting moment
When the torrential rains pour in
And the winds blowing
The frowns upon the essential….
Ahhh the sight and sound and smells
Guidance is the forbidden taste
Guide my dreams along
The rock path to aimless ambition
Ahhh the sunny October morning
Ahhh autumns charm is blessed
The “Parkdale poet” posted this piece to the Toronto Missed Connections maybe five years ago? At the time, I saved it in my ever-growing archive of found poetry. My intention was to publish it during the month of October, but many Octobers came and went as I forgot about its existence – until today. Now it sees the light of day, on this day, the first of October.
