From Anchorage to Zebulon: In Search of Missed Connections
On a clear night, invite a good friend or family member outside on your deck or in your back yard on your favorite chase lounge chair’s, lay back flat and look up at the stars… the shooting stars…. and the heavens and just breath slow and deep and think for a while and silently ask the question to the stars,WHY, pause for a while and reflect for a few minutes and when your ready, stand up and give your friend or loved one a big long hug and maybe a kiss on the cheek and just reflect, it will humble you and maybe make you feel better about your life and your pain. 🙂
Voicemail from the Vet
can never be a good sign.
It’s not my birthday.
Having a hurt or sick pet is like having a sick infant.
You can see their distress in their eyes but they can’t tell you what is hurting.
(Besides your human heart)
Even geniuses and scientists are helpless and unequipped to respond to this kind of silent suffering.
“C’mon over here Buddy. You might as well jump into my bed and be comfy.”
(There’s plenty of room :-\)
Missed Connections are filled with good, bad and helplessly-hurting-haiku. Did you write one? Did you find one? After making your furry, four-legged friend comfortable, email the link to Lovelorn Poets. We’ll preserve those sadly-sick-syllables for all eternity.
i think about the word thanksgiving

to know how it feels to be included
in the world and
included
in other words
too
