Marcel Duchamp and i descended
staircases in the
nude
and the line breaks were intentional
as were the spaces in between
worlds
and flying dragons we’re always
the hardest to shake

btw. is there a station where
we can check our

because verse caught in
between the
lines
is always the

mindgallery
There are many shadowy bits in this mindgallery poem that catch my attention, but my favorite is the line, “and flying dragons we’re always the hardest to shake off.” Whether you read it straight (interpreting “we’re” as “we are”) or read it without the apostrophe (interpreting “we’re” as “were”), both versions are equally compelling. Intentional or accidental? Only mindgallery knows.
