she mentioned pizza and fun
and I got to thinking about the juke box
wall to wall kids having fun
with the cute girls on the right side of the counter
two slices and a mug of soda was a buck
the juke box didnt make it
the owners couldnt juke out the bills
she would say she was done with babies
and that the box was just for fun
and she too couldnt juke out death
the old juke box is now an office of lawyers
and I’m glad she didnt want to be buried in a box
two slices and a small coke is 5 bucks
and the cute girls are on the wrong side of the counter
a uhaul passes me
if you are planning a move
we sell boxes on its backdoor
I’m trying to move on
with a box full of memories
that I just can’t juke out
