The guru tells us
we should set our intentions
and then forget them.
At first I did not understand what he meant; it seemed confusing.
Now I think he was encouraging us to know what we want,
and to recognize why we want or need that,
but not to be consumed by our desire to get what we want, or reach what we seek.
Still it is hard to wait. To just sit and be open to “letting it happen.”
When we have everything except the one missing partner, or situation or satisfaction,
we become anxious and desperate to reach it;
Love, Meaning, Intimacy, Recognition or enough Wealth.
The tools that we used to get us to “here”, cannot get us “there.”
We need a new way.
I need a new window to fly through.
The Haiku for Hopefuls writer on the Seattle Missed Connections only occasionally added photos to their posts. Sometimes, it would be a photo of the mountains or woods, but my favorites were always ones of the little dog (shown above). I don’t know if the haiku posts helped our poet to “find true love” but having a dog to walk and take to the park certainly helps.
