This message, complete with the xkcd comic embedded in it, has been sitting in my inbox since 12/20/2010. Somehow, somewhy, every time I saw the subject line it brought about a spate of  horribly welcome and delicious self-tortuous dark and twisty thoughts. It’s like an obsession with a particular kind of chocolate or alcohol; no matter how hard you try to refuse, it keeps lurking around the corner with that subtle come-hither finger gesture. The inbox is in a disastrous state due to my neglect, but Hurricane Sandy has me thinking it’s time to let the wind and rain wash everything away… but not without saving a few reminders in a different container first.

I scour Craigslist’s missed connections thread weekly – hoping that I caught someone’s attention.
To no prevail I’ve decided to take fate into my own hands.
February 14th I will be in Ann Arbor for the evening.
I will stay in one location, and wait.
I am looking to find that one person, whose eyes will send goosebumps up my spine, and slightest touch will burn my skin like a hot flame.

P.S. I only assume this person exists, I think I’ve read too many romance novels. It’s polluted my mind into a hopeless romantic.

Well dear readers, it appears this is where the Valentine’s Day movie begins. This evening in Ann Arbor, a person will wait in an undisclosed restaurant to meet that one person who sends goosebumps down their spine. Overly-optimistic? Head-in-the-clouds crazy? What if you were to walk into any given restaurant and say hello to a person sitting alone? That one person could be you, you know.
