Music Guru Guy Benoit provides lots of great musical soundtrack selections but strangely enough, not every song recorded in the history of music is available on YouTube. (Geez, how can that BE??) However, thanks to technology, lots of other suggestions appear when a search yields zero – and in the case of this message, a beautiful song I was totally unfamiliar with materialized.

we are not sure,
what is our challenge
what will be our cure,
alone we are all born
alone we will all die,
what’s in the middle
it’s up to you and I,
life is for the living
we are never sure,
around each corner
what we will endure,
how we will feel
where we will be,
time will tell
soon we will see…

While I’m sure our Lexington poet didn’t write this piece for Earth Day, the sentiments expressed can apply to any facet of our lives – including our relationship with the environment. “we are never sure, around each corner what we will endure…” Better to prepare now than be sorry later!

Her Two Cents on Ur Toothbrush

There’s something about this short and simple piece that I find profoundly sad. I think it’s the thought that something so everyday as a toothbrush can carry such weight and memories about a person and their relationship. Is it better to keep the toothbrushes together, knowing that one owner is gone, or to remove it and be constantly faced with one less? I’m not really sure which is the better option…

Gentle Readers: When relationships end there are always some objects that are intentionally or accidentally left behind. A toothbrush, book, CD, or a shirt… have you ever had to deal with a “left behind” object? What was it and how did you react?
