Might hearts
Be broke
To self dis’pair
Until, in’part
You find your pair
They go by twos
Yet one they share
A souljourn born
Re’pair
Re’pair
With Love, please do
Forgive me much
‘Twas consumed in self
With such & such
Boring things
A muse myself
I just got…forgot
My one, true wealth
Those eyes familiar
Those eyes
You SEE,
Im’paired with Love
Im’paired with me.
~Your Poet~
Today, I was digging through the “ancient history” archive of saved Missed Connections poems, and this one from Raleigh-Durham’s Your Poet grabbed my attention. Impaired has some nice word-play, and if you read it at a slow pace, thinking and visualizing a bit after each line, a very nice story is created by the time you reach the end.
